In order to promote the upcoming 21st Detective Conan feature film Karakurenai no Love Letter/Crimson Love Letter, Gosho Aoyama and Yuki Suetsugu, the authors of the Meitantei Conan/Detective Conan and Chihayafuru manga series, collaborated to draw an illustration featuring the characters from both series.

Both manga have been serialized in different publishers’ magazines, Conan has been in Shogakukan’s Weekly Shonen Sunday while Chihayafuru has been in Kodansha’s BE LOVE. This collaboration was realized because the film features Ogura Hyakunin Isshu, which has been used for the card game of uta-garuta since the 12th century, in its story, and also the two artists have been big fans of each other’s popular ongoing series.

Meitantei Conan: Karakurenai no Love Letter/Detective Conan: Crimson Love Letter is set for a release

in Japan this Saturday, April 15.
