If you’re in the mood for some epic ninja drama, then check out the new trailer for Basilisk ~Ouka Ninpocho~, an upcoming sequel series to the 2005 Basilisk TV anime, which was adapted from the Basilisk – The Kouga Ninja Scrolls manga by Masaki Segawa, which was itself inspired by The Kouga Ninja Scrolls, a 1958 novel by Futaro Yamada.

Set 10 years after the events of the earlier Basilisk TV anime, Basilisk ~Ouka Ninpocho~ adapts the “Cherry Blossom Ninpo Chapter” of the series. The story follows Hachirou Kouga of the Kouga Clan and Hibiki Iga of the Iga Clan, a pair of ninja who inherit the generations-long blood feud of their two rival clans. Will they be able to make their way in a war-torn world where life is as fleeting as the falling cherry blossoms?

Basilisk ~Ouka Ninpocho~ is directed by Junji Nishimura and features animation by Seven Arcs Pictures. The series will broadcast in Japan according to the following TV schedule:

  • Tokyo MX: every Monday during the 24:00 time slot beginning on January 08, 2018.
