The “Valkyria Project” teased last week by Sega turns out to be Valkyria Chronicles 4, not a spin-off or a smart phone game but rather a proper sequel set in the Eastern Front during the war between the Imperial Alliance and the Atlantic Federation.

The story of the latest entry in the “active-simulation RPG” series is set during the timeline of the earlier Valkyria Chronicles games. It follows new characters Claude Wallace and Riley Miller, soldiers in the Edinburgh Army who are assigned to Operation: Northern Cross, a desperate offensive designed to capture the heavily-fortified Imperial capital in order to bring an end to the war.

Valkyria Chronicles 4 will be released for the Sony PlayStation 4 console in Japan on March 21, 2018. The game will also be released for the Nintendo Switch console in Summer of 2018.
